Home Shopper Service

Due to the increasing pressure on domiciliary care services throughout the city there is a need to free up more hours wherever possible.
 
A substantial number of hours are currently spent on shopping which is both time consuming and a deflection from the main tasks of personal care and housework.
 
As a means of addressing the problem, the home shopping service has been established to shop for those housebound / frail older people and deliver to their own homes.
 
The Home Shopper contacts people each week and take their shopping list over the telephone, shops and delivers all on the same day.
 
There is currently just one part time shopper with a client list of around 35 people.
 
Referral to the service is through Care Managers.
