Falls Prevention Video

"I Fall" is a video developed with and for older people as one of a range of initiatives that seek to reduce the risk of falls amongst the older age group.
 

Members of the Wednesday Club felt they could improve upon other videos featuring “talking heads” giving falls prevention advice. As older people, they believe they have a better understanding of how to convey the message in a way that will best engage the attention and interest of other older people.
 
The video has been very well received, with copies in use throughout the city and others sold around the country.
 
Together with the Chinese Falls video, "I Fall" was shortlisted for the 2005 Community Care Awards and was rated "Highly Commended".
